| Winter Harp Retreat For the first time ever, we are attempting to gather all the harp players in NSW or even further afield for their own residential weekend where they can get thoroughly harp-absorbed. The 2009 Harp Retreat retreat will be held at Karuna Sanctuary, Katoomba during the weekend of 7th - 9th August, 2009 and is a must for all harpists. You may know Karuna as the venue for Wintersong. It is set amongst 300 acres of stunning bushland located 3 kms out of Katoomba. There are several bushwalks nearby to choose from. Karuna is set up with a roaring fires, cute heated railway carriages and dormitory style accommodation. All meals are included. It is open to all harpists. Participants may be either residential or non residential and families and friends are welcome. It promises to be a fun weekend! The classes will be run by Jayne Hockley from Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains and Cliona Molins from Fairlight in Sydney. Other well known harpists will also contribute to activities. Each day will be structured around harp sessions, with plenty of opportunity for the sharing of harp resources. • Bring focus to your harp playing • Improve your technique • Learn new tunes • Improvise in a harp jam • Enjoy walks in the bush • Learn from other harp players • Make and renew harp friends • Record sessions to bring home • “Take it at your own level” • Stretch yourself • Play together in a group Hurry - early bird registration ends on the 26th June!
