Shropshire Holiday October / November 2001

Monday 29 October

Off we go for our second holiday with Dorset Queen Coaches this year to spend five days in Shropshire based at the Longmynd Hotel in Church Stretton.

Our lunch time stop in Bridgnorth introduced us to the incline to the top of the town, the railway powered these days by electricity was most welcome.

From the top the view to the bottom of the town and the river Severn.
Market building and Town Hall provided a grand backcloth for us to eat our sandwiches

The castle ruins, demolished as in the case of Corfe Castle as a penalty for the town's support of the Royalist cause during the Civil War.
